Spirefly always uses the most precise data available for each product, then falls back to the next-best source wherever that data isn't there yet. Primary impact data measured at source is used where you have it; product LCAs, physical-flow data, and spend-based estimates fill in behind it, so every product gets a footprint and every number is as accurate as your current data allows.

As more primary data arrives it replaces the fallbacks, and nothing is re-processed from scratch. In practice, that cuts data-processing time by roughly tenfold.

Carbon and nature in one picture

Spirefly measures carbon and nature from one dataset, so water, land, pollution, and biodiversity are scored alongside emissions and aligned to SBTi FLAG, TNFD, and SBTN. Because nature impact depends on where materials are grown and processed, Spirefly also models likely countries of production from trade-flow data, weighted by sourcing volume. Where you already have more granular location or primary origin data, it uses that and models only the gaps.

Frequently asked questions

We don't have material composition data for most of our SKUs. Can we still get started?

Yes. Spend data is enough for a first footprint with Spirefly. You add composition data where you have it, and each addition sharpens the number. The platform shows you exactly where better data would make the biggest difference.

We use ecoinvent or AgriBalyse for our current calculations. Do we have to switch?

No. Spirefly works with your existing emission factor databases, so sources like ecoinvent for materials can run in the same platform without migration.

We're working on a supply chain traceability initiative. Does Spirefly replace it?

No, they work together. Spirefly is the measurement layer and traceability tools are the data collection layer. Verified origin data from your traceability initiative slots directly into Spirefly and replaces model estimates, and Spirefly tells you where to focus that investment first.

We already have product LCAs for our key styles. What happens to those?

They slot in as primary data and replace database estimates for those products. Spirefly extends the same methodology across your full assortment, so your hero-product LCAs and your full-range footprint become one coherent, comparable picture.

What about EUDR? We need verified country-of-origin data, not estimates.

For EUDR legal due diligence, verified primary data is required, and origin models alone are not sufficient as compliance proof. Where you have verified origin data, Spirefly uses it. Where you don't, its models show where deforestation risk is concentrated, so you know which suppliers and commodities to prioritize for verified tracing first.

Our buyers move fast. How do we get impact data into the buying cycle in time?

What frameworks does Spirefly cover for fashion?

Spirefly provides data and calculations aligned to CSRD scope 1 to 3 organizational footprints, SBTi including FLAG with land-use and fossil emissions tracked separately, TNFD, and SBTN, with carbon and nature from the same dataset. Spirefly is the measurement layer: it produces the inputs your team uses to complete each disclosure.

Is Spirefly carbon accounting software?

Spirefly does more than carbon accounting. It measures carbon and nature in one dataset, so water, land, pollution, and biodiversity are scored alongside emissions across your full assortment. A carbon footprint is one output among several Spirefly measures, which is why fashion teams use Spirefly to meet climate and nature requirements together.

Is Spirefly an LCA (life cycle assessment) tool?

Spirefly uses life cycle assessment methodology, but unlike product-by-product LCA software it runs across your entire assortment in every cycle. Your existing product LCAs slot in as primary data, and the same method extends to the thousands of SKUs a manual LCA never reaches, from organization level down to material.

Can Spirefly be used as CSRD software?

Spirefly gives you the assessment data you need for CSRD, aligned to its requirements across scope 1 to 3 with carbon and nature from one dataset. It is not a complete reporting suite: Spirefly produces the underlying footprints and evidence, and your team uses them to compile the disclosure. The same applies to the other frameworks it aligns to, including SBTi FLAG, TNFD, and SBTN.
