The carbon assessment follows the GHG Protocol across Scope 1, 2, and every material Scope 3 category, from purchased goods and transport to travel and waste.

Nature measurement answers two questions. Impact: how much land use, freshwater, biodiversity pressure, and pollution your supply chain generates, across fifteen indicators aligned to the SBTN framework.

Risk exposure: where you are vulnerable to nature-related disruption, like a commodity grown in a region under water stress. Both run from your carbon data, so a change that helps carbon but worsens water risk shows up before you commit.

Many teams move their carbon measurement into Spirefly over time to keep both in one environment: one update cycle, one traceability record, and one set of scenarios showing the carbon and nature trade-offs.

**We only have spend-per-supplier data. Is that enough to start?**

Yes, as a starting point. Spend-level data gives you a directional footprint in Spirefly: which categories and suppliers carry the most risk, and where better data would help most. It is not precise enough for product-level disclosure, but it is enough to prioritise data collection and start the supplier conversations that improve it. Every spend-based figure carries a confidence flag, so you know what you can act on now.
